What do I like about winter?
Mainly the absence of heat.
At times, westerlies blow,
Where I live there’s no snow
And there’s never a semblance of sleet.
Mornings and evenings are cool, crisp and clear
And days are invariably sunny
There’s a big pot of soup
Bubbling up on the stove
And crumpets all dripping with honey.
So forget about summer, and autumn and spring
For winter’s the time I like most
And you would as well
If you lived where I dwell
On our own beautiful Sunshine Coast.
