Gloria Bracken, a Sydney girl and Queensland wife and mother, had an unconventional childhood, growing up during the Depression years. After meeting the love of her life, Harry, in Brisbane in her teenage years, she provided a stable Catholic homelife for her husband and four children. Having a keen intelligence she completed an Arts degree from Queensland University at the same time as her twin girls.

Always interested in words, and inspired by her English-teaching stepfather, Gloria has had  a lifelong passion for poetry. She continues to write on the vagaries of life as she approaches her naughty nineties.
