Vertigo

"I'm afraid you've got vertigo",

The kindly doctor said.

I thought that he said "Verdigo"

so many thoughts ran through my head.

"You mean", I said, "my green has gone?"

He gave a puzzled smile, "Oh no" he said

It's quite a different scene".

"But", I said, "if vertigo is what I've got

why hasn't it just gone?

'Cos I'm tired of feeling wobbly,

Afraid of landing on my scone.

I really would be happy if vert just up and went

Instead of vertigo, I had vertbegone

I would be quite content".

"oh well, my dear you'll have to take

some pills for your health's sake

and learn to take it easy,

otherwise you will feel queasy.

I know that vertigo's a cross

But you'll have to show it

Just who's  boss".
