Unrepresentative Swill

Tasmania’s tacked on to the end of our nation

And their politicians cause some consternation.

Bob Brown was quite green, and no namby pamby,

Then onto the scene burst Senator Lambie.

Although she’s a lady her language is rare

Every now and again I believe she will swear.

She once joined a party, then gave it all up

And made a big break from Clive Palmer’s PUP.

We gaze in amazement at her intransigence

And hope against hope she’ll be making some sense.

She says she will block all or most legislation

Although this will earn her grave disapprobation.

Paul Keating’s description – ‘unrepresentative swill’ –

Will apply to some senators, for good or ill,

And if we cannot soon resolve this impasse

I’m afraid there’ll be many just put out to grass.
