I’ve pulled the plug on the Internet
I’ve done it without the least regret
What a relief, there’s no more aggra
From messages urging me – “get Viagra”
No more photos by the score
From various sources – such a bore
No more sitting before a screen,
Now there’s time to plan and dream.
The written word is much more fun
And reading a source of great delight;
You can’t take a computer to bed, it’s true,
To pass the time on a sleepless night.
How did we cope in that far-off time
When IT was a pronoun, and going on line
Meant hanging out the washing
When the day was fine?
Modern technology is a wonder
But doting on it can be a blunder.
So, don’t be a slave to the Internet.
I’m free at last – are you ready yet?
