The anichinnus is a most minute marsupial
So tiny, it is knee high to a mouse,
But it’s a most voracious beast
And when it wants to feast
It will do it’s best to infiltrate your house.
The female of the species has a hard life,
She can produce twelve offspring in one go;
And in the breeding season
It only stands to reason
If one or two went missing, she’d not know.
Now you may think the male has it easy-
For all he has to do is propagate,
And he occupies all hours
Not just hiding in some flowers
But taking every opportunity to mate.
But fate has quite a nasty trick to play
On the males of the species anichinnus,
For, when the mating season’s done
They are wiped out, every one;
In every situation there’s a plus and there’s a minus.
