SUV

I’m worried about SUVs

Could someone enlighten me, please?

Are these vehicles breeding?

Is anyone heeding

The ominous warning about global warming

From carbon emissions?

Who makes the decisions

To put these cars into production

When we desperately need a reduction

Of those greenhouse gases

That threaten the masses

Of people who live on this earth?

Just what is our survival worth?

Now I am told these cars are just grand

For people who work on the land

But as symbols of status

They cause hiatus

Whenever I am shopping my view they are stopping

I really am feeling uptight

Is there any solution in sight?

I can travel as far in my little car

With much less pollution-

How can we get rid of this blight?

You may call me a wowser

But when I’m at the bowser

My luck stars I do thank

When the dollar signs show

That’s the time when I know

It costs much less to fill up my tank

Than the guzzlers of gas, alack and alas,

Whose drivers need help from their bank.
