Lord, I cannot see your face
But I have beheld your majesty
In the grandeur of snow-clad mountains
Your glory in sunrise over the ocean
And your beauty in stars and moonlight.
I have felt your power in thunder and lightning
And your love in the gentle embrace of dear ones
Your Holy Spirit has led me
Out of the wilderness of guilt and grief
To an oasis of joy and peace.
Lord, I cannot see your face
But at the time when death has taken
Those whom I have dearly loved
And in that final separation I am lost
You have borne me up on outspread wings.
All that I have and am
Comes from your hands.
The greatest gift of all, your Son
Received, though veiled,
In bread and wine.
