Though Queensland is the greatest state
It’s never without drama.
Our politicians are quite weird –
There was Joh, and now there’s Palmer.
Pauline Hanson once caused a stir –
A star that rose and fell;
Once again seems resurrected,
Only time alone will tell.
We mortals who just simply vote
Cannot believe our eyes,
When we see a crop of pollies
Always wanting to surprise.
They are trying to impress us,
Believing they are superhuman,
Rounding up those wicked bikies –
Is their leader such a new man?
Sand mining’s got the go-ahead,
Sure to cause much grief,
And tons of dredging have been dumped
So near the Barrier Reef.
I fear the status quo remains
There’s always something up,
The only thing of which we’re sure,
Is that we’ve been sold a PUP.
