NBN (Nearly Bloody Ninety)

It's great fun to be a nonagenarian

Though you live in an area that isn't riparian.

The river's not close, but the beach is quite near,

But you don't venture down there, the hot sun you fear.

 

If you go near the water you won't get a tan,

You'll be freckled and shrivelled, for your're a greatgran.

While you're watching TV you drop off to sleep -

There's just no point in your counting sheep.

 

And though it's frustrating to miss the neat ending,

Just think of the extra time your are spending

Just doing nothing, oh what a bore,

If you got up from your chair

You could do one more chore.

 

When you try to remember a life that was busy,

It's quite enough to make you feel dizzy.

So here's to a life that's rather lazy -

No, better not, you could drive yourself crazy -

It's not a long drive
