I summoned up my courage
And took a hearing test
But when I found I hadn’t passed
I felt a bit depressed.
Then I thought, what was the point?
When all was said and done
Most times my hearing was OK
When it was one to one.
I must admit, when in a crowd
If someone spoke below a shout
And noise became extremely loud
I couldn’t make the info out.
And as for the grandfather clock
I’d have to stand so near
To recognise the tick tick tock
Why couldn’t it be clear?
So I, with much procrastination
Did tell myself, perhaps in time
I’d have enough determination
To sort the problem that was mine.
And so did, now I can hear
The sounds that once I missed
For they are really more than clear
In fact, I must insist.
Now, when I answer nature’s calls
I feel I’m at Niagara Falls.
