My spirits soar whene’er I see
The sunlit Darling Downs
The patchwork fields in nature’s hues
The reds, the golds, the browns.
The sky above is cobalt blue
The hills are olive green
Contented cattle graze amid
The peaceful rural scene.
Although I’ve wandered far and wide
Across this land of ours
Past valleys green, and rolling plains
And hillsides decked with flowers.
There’s just one place where I’m at peace
No matter where I roam
When the signpost points to Warwick
Then I know I’m half-way home.
