There are fourteen people on this earth
Due in part to my endeavour
All are good to look upon
And all of them are clever
In one way or another.
I was only sweet sixteen
When I met a handsome lad
And very soon we fell in love
But nobody was glad
Except the two of us.
My parents thought that I would soon
Get him out of my system
They could not have been more wrong
I just could not resist him
He was so gorgeous.
He was his mother’s pride and joy
The centre of her life
The last thing that she wanted
Was for him to take a wife
Like me.
For I was just not good enough
Simply a curiousity
She didn’t take to me at all
Which led to reciprocity
Which later faded.
Well time went on, in spite of all,
Much later we were wed
And we were so old-fashioned
We didn’t go to bed
Until we made our vows.
In nature’s time our family grew
Three girls and just one boy
They gave us lots of sleepless nights
But also lots of joy
And endless nappies!
As families do they all grew up
And all of them did marry
And made of us their Grandma Glor
And their Grandfather Harry.
To ten new little Ausssies.
There are fourteen people on this earth
Due in part to my endeavour.
